BIDEN'S EXECUTIVE ACTION TO BAN GHOST GUNS

It’s been just over a month now since Biden has been sworn in as President and the White House has been receiving increasing pressure from politicians and anti-gun organizations who supported the Biden-Harris campaign to own up on their promises of gun control from the trail. The perceived lack of action is understandable though as Covid-19 is still the administration’s first priority (not that we’re complaining).

As the White House continues to signal through press briefings and official statements their plan of action, the situation is steadily more worrisome as it’s becoming increasingly clear that Biden plans on using an Executive Order to skip the legal process of the Hill and enact an assault weapons ban or ban ghost guns outright.

Some may think that is simply fuddlore or fear mongering… if that’s the case, we invite you to take a look at Biden’s immediate track record: over 50 executive actions having been taken and 32 executive orders published by Biden to date, according to the Federal Register so far. With record setting numbers for executive activity in his first month of office; it’s not a question of if Biden will use his power to enact unlawful gun control but when.

NEW TEXAS LAWS TO PROTECT 2ND AMENDMENT

We’ve previously discussed how several states have been preemptively preparing for new gun control on the federal level by introducing legislation with the intent to declare themselves as 2A Sanctuaries, Texas being one of them. Given the energy SNAFU Texas just experienced during their most recent cold snap, lawmakers are proactively trying to protect the 2nd Amendment during times of unprecedented disasters.

If COVID-19 or the civil unrest that came with the BLM movement last year showed us anything, it’s that during times of uncertainty, people buy guns ( over 40 million in 2020 to be exact).

With that in mind, Rep. Cole Hefner and Sen. Brandon Creighton filed House Bill 2249 and Senate Bill 18 to ensure that firearms and ammunition manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, suppliers and retailers would be deemed as essential business that wouldn’t be prohibited from operating by state or local officials during a declared disaster or emergency.

CANADA'S INCOMING GUN CONFISCATION

In another act of political insanity, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that he’d be making good on his promise from 2020 following the Nova Scotia mass shooting to ban and confiscate a comprehensive list of firearms rendering civilians basically unable to privately own firearms.

The actual bill is called C-21: An Act to amend certain Acts and to make certain consequential amendments (firearms) and it’s being framed as a “buyback program” to combat gun violence and illegal firearms trafficking. Americans should take this story as a timely cautionary tale as an example of what is perfectly possible in a democratic nation we’re not so far away from.

Within the coming months, our Canadian friends are expecting to be forced to follow a rigorous set of rules for storage, ownership and even inspections in order to keep their firearms as there is a 2 year amnesty period for owners who currently own banned firearms and related items.
