Guns for me, but not for thee - Hunter Biden still gets a pass?

Hunter Biden has been in the headlines for years ever since his laptop and its contents
conveniently "disappeared" before the last election. As we all know, the contents found on that laptop should have gotten him several life sentences but with his last name, the rules don't apply. This has become evident after his plea deal became public earlier this week. Hunter recently pled guilty to two misdemeanor tax charges and admitted to lying on a Form 4473 when he illegally purchased a firearm in 2018 (also tossed it in a dumpster behind a grocery store). The lie was that despite his very public self-documentation of substance abuse, Hunter claimed he wasn't a drug user on the form.
Many Americans (predominantly African Americans) have been locked up, intimidated, after being charged with the same crime of lying on a Form 4473. However, Hunter won't see the inside of a prison, thanks to a two-year diversion program that will dismiss the gun charge if he behaves.
We've just found out that Joe Biden had already known for 4 days that the OceanGate submersible had imploded — which had gone missing during an expensive tourist dive to visit the Titanic's ruins in the Atlantic but delayed the news in order to distract from the news of Hunter getting off easy with the justice system.
If you'd like to know more about how Hunter Biden has continually failed up in his life and what scandals have surrounded him this blog sums it up pretty well.
This story serves as a glaring reminder of the very clear double standards within our justice system. While some individuals, including Democrat politicians, seem to escape consequences due to their family name or connections, average Americans face severe punishment for similar, or even lesser, infractions.
As supporters of the Second Amendment, we should guard vigilantly against such inequality and continue to advocate for fair and just treatment of all law-abiding citizens under the law. No one should have their rights infringed upon, nor should anyone receive preferential treatment, regardless of their social or political standing.
IRS Agents Seize 4473 Forms from Montana Gun Store

In an alarming display of governmental overreach, 20 heavily armed IRS agents, accompanied by ATF agent, stormed Highwood Creek Outfitters, a Montana gun store. Their haul? Thousands of 4473 Forms, which were not even listed in the search warrant originally served, concerning alleged financial irregularities.
Here's Mr. Guns & Gadget's take on the situation.
This power play has provoked an understandable backlash. Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen and Congressman Matt Rosendale have called out this apparent excess and are demanding answers. Knudsen underscored, "These aren't financial records; they're records of lawful firearm purchases", hinting at an attempt by federal agencies to grab as many of these purchase records as possible.
Organizations like the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF), Gun Owners of America (GOA), and Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) are actively standing up against such overreaches. Their efforts remind us that, while the challenges are real, so too is the power of collective action. Stand strong and support these organizations in their fight to maintain our Second Amendment rights. The future of our freedoms may very well depend on it.
The Dangerous Naiveté of Anti-Gunners

Certain politicians seem intent on passing laws based on a simplistic and often misguided view of firearms and their role in society. Their naivety concerning the real causes of gun violence, and the repercussions of their actions, is both dangerous and disconcerting. What we are witnessing is a dangerous blend of misguided policy-making and judicial overreach. It is high time we address this issue head-on.
Take, for instance, the recent case of the Juneteenth celebration shooting in Illinois, which saw 23 people injured and 1 killed. Despite Illinois having implemented numerous gun control measures, including universal background checks, bans on assault weapons, high-capacity magazines, and ghost guns - such heinous acts of violence are still happening. The ineffectiveness of these stringent laws and reveals a fundamental misunderstanding among politicians.
Republican lawmakers in Illinois had a sarcastic quip in response, "I thought we fixed this." But as congressman Dan Caulkins (R-IL) aptly put it, “It’s not about guns. It’s about people.”
It's an overwhelming and inconvenient truth that those with criminal intent will always find ways to circumvent the law, regardless of how strict or comprehensive it may be. But it's not just this ignorance towards the root causes of gun violence that's alarming. Some of our judiciaries seem to be suffering from the same dangerous naivety that comes from being closed-minded, uninformed, or both.
Recently, Judge Roth of the Third Circuit Court expressed her belief that the Commerce Clause overrides the Bill of Rights, which could have serious implications for our constitutional rights. The clause gives Congress the power "To regulate Commerce with foreign nations, among several states, and with the Indian Tribes." Much like everything we have seen with Governmental agencies, there's a broad interpretation that will lead to more and more overstepping by the lawmakers and their cronies.
Judge Roth's interpretation effectively grants the federal government more power than the Bill of Rights permits. And this doesn't just concern the Second Amendment. The First Amendment and others could be just as affected under this premise, with the scope of modern commerce far greater than at the founding of our nation. This interpretation of the Commerce Clause is a worrying precedent because it enables the federal government to regulate nearly all aspects of our lives, in direct contravention of the Bill of Rights.
